Daily CFC Blog/News Review – 19th Jan 2012
The impending CPO Annual General meeting is in the news today with a variety of previews and viewpoints in the either, we will be running a preview tonight but a range of viewpoints can be found at the following sites.
For a more satirical look at the CPO issue PlainsofAlmeria have done a very good Monty Python style satire.
Meanwhile……
WeAintGotNoHistory looks at the pros and cons of a rumoured 5 day break to Spain for the players after the Norwich match. This seems like a decent idea to me which should refresh the players and improve the team spirit.
FamousCFC.com has been looking at the changes CFC_Kris would like to see at Chelsea and the wider footballing world in 2012, some are more likely than others and some are just pure fantasy. The end of managerial hypocrisy, dream on!
General Sports Sites
The general news sites have been fairly quiet on Chelsea in the last few days as they look to hype the upcoming crunch games involving the two Manchester sides, Liverpool and Arsenal this weekend.
BBCSport is reporting that Shenau Shanghai (the club that bought Nicholas Anelka) are claiming that a deal for Didier Drogba is almost done. This seems a little bit farfetched to me but you never know with football or the twists of Drogba’s CFC career.
SkySports are running the same story but also focus on new signing Gary Cahill who has been keen to express how quickly he wants to start contributing at Chelsea.

Valencia Match Reactions and Man of Match Award
Tonight saw an emphatic victory that sees us safely into the Champions League knockout stages.
With the pressure on we produced a calm, measured and winning performance that will ease the pressure on AVB.
Everything went right for us and we showed mental steel that has been lacking in the early part of the AVB era.
The high line was gone as we played deeper absorbing more pressure and springing forward quickly whenever possible to devastating effect.
The cavalier spirit of David Luiz seem to have been tamed as he had a mature and error free performance alongside John Terry.
In midfield Ramires was strong as shown in his determination to score the second and Romeu and Meireles were solid keeping Valencia contained in the middle of the park
Man of the Match – Didier Drogba
The story of the night was the rejuvenation of Didier Drogba who hassled, harried and used his strength to provide a constant menace to Valencia. He fully deserved his two goals and if he can recreate this form regularly he will be a key catalyst in our season.
Fantastic performance with our key players stepping up to the plate.

CFC Video – Vintage Didier Drogba!
After his vintage performance against Valencia last night, time to look at other occasions of Didier Drogba at his best and what better than his golden goal season in 2009/2010.
Enjoy but apologies for the terrible music!

Would Selling Didier Drogba to Manchester City for £20 Million Be A Good Deal?
Golden boot winner Didier Drogba played a central role in the most successful season in Chelsea's history. When off the floor holding his face, his strength, power and finishing makes him a valuable and desirable commodity. Logic would suggest that Chelsea would be mad to even consider selling such a prized asset, especially one so instrumental to the clubs on-field success. However at 32 Didier Drogba is in the final stages of his peak and approaching the twilight of his career.
