Daily CFC Blog-News Review – 25th Jan 2012
I was sorry to hear in the last couple of days that our record goal scorer Bobby Tambling is currently in hospital.
The 70 year old is reported to be suffering with a serious condition and we would like to wish our top scorer a speedy recovering as all Chelsea fans are pulling for you sir!
FamousCFC.com start the day by suggesting that anyone can become a professional footballer as long as they are happy with being Man City’s seventh choice left back.
With all the struggles and debates over our best formation ChelseaDaft cover this issue in depth, although CFC.Kris would like to see a 4-3-3 but only if we can get some pacy wingers in the style of Robben and Duff from the Mourinho era.
Also don’t forget that the Chelsea Football Fancast is out this week for two hours of Chelsea based discussion, ranting, singing and banter.
Transfer News
The mainstream media the BBC and several other sources are reporting that we have opened talks to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Genk with a range of possible options including a loan back being discussed. I think this would be a positive mood as the kid is obviously talented and we could bed him into the team after a full pre-season.

To Be Frank, We Missed Him! – The Chelsea Football FanCast #131
Chidge and the Chelsea FanCast crew discuss the games against Newcastle and Man City, and are also joined by Neil Fissler the author of new Chelsea book: Where Are They Now – Chelsea.
First we lose to Newcastle in the Carling Cup, but Chidge and the boys actually enjoyed a game we lost more than when we win. Can’t beat a bit of fight and passion and backs to the wall spirit, and we were privileged to see Josh McEachran’s transformation from a boy into a man. He didn’t put a foot wrong.

Next up we had Man Citeh in what was billed as our first big test of the season. What did we get? A bit of a feeble performance in midfield and another mugging from Man City. It was more like a game of Italian chess, but we don’t really think we deserved to come home empty handed when all is said and done. And when all is said and done, both the Arse and Man Who screwed up, so we’re still top of the league and having a laugh!!
We have a very special guest on the show in the form of Neil Fissler. Neil has written an excellent book entitled “Where Are they Now – Chelsea” which gives the true football anorak details on what has happened to Chelsea players from the past. Players like: Rati Aleksidze; Wilf Chitty, Jack Cock, Perry Digweed, Frode Grodas, and even Slavisa Jokanovic, as well as players we’ve actually heard of!
As well as all that the boys discuss the matches from the last week and award their Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments, as well as another classic terrace song from the terraces in “we’re out show the world the way to sing”.
And with the Dr AWOL again this week, there’s a joint effort on the Dear Mart front, and back by popular demand Chidge reads out the best of your posts in “You’re on CFFC”. Who says we don’t give the listeners what they want!!!

That’s why we’re Champions! Chelsea Football FanCast #27
The boys discuss the 2-0 defeat of a typically attritional Stoke, applaud some top performances by Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, Mikel, John Terry and Alex, and ponder the forthcoming challenges of the Carling Cup and Champions League.
No 6-0 this week, so we’ll just have to be satisfied with 32 league goals without reply in our last 7 games. The salient point being no goals conceded…seven clean sheets!
As always it was a battle against Stoke, but even with Super Frank missing a penalty and then limping off, we ran out comfortable winners to leave us the only unbeaten team in the league with the small matter of a plus 14 goal difference. That’s why we’re champions!!
Chelsea’s passing and movement gets glowing praise from the FanCast crew. It’s just like watching Playstation football!! Thankfully, Super Frank and JT seem to have got injured just at the right time with international week coming up so will be better for the rest.
We have our usual awards for the Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments. Also as it’s the end of the month we’ll be nominating our Goal of the month and player of the month.
The boys also have a look at the forthcoming Carling Cup and Champions League where we will be reacquainted with the delights of Slovakia, the bad trip of the Luzhniky stadium and Didier Deschamps at Marseille.
A song for Obi in “We’re out to show the World the way to Sing” is followed, as ever, by the Dr donning his white coat and stethoscope to answer your questions in Dear Mart and a very grumpy Chidge reading out the best posts from the website and facebook group in “You’re on CFFC”…

It’s like we were never away! The Chelsea Football FanCast #126
Chidge is joined by Dr Mart, Ross fresh from his trip to the US of A and Chris fresh from making his debut on Sky News last week. They discuss the 6-0 tonking of West Brom, give out their match awards and chew the fat over the latest Chelsea news.

It’s good to see Chelsea picking up where they left off last season and indeed good to see the Chelsea FanCast crew picking up where they left off last season – by drinking themselves silly all day as first day of the season excitement well and truly got to them!!
Inspite of being woefully short of both match fitness and sharpness, the Boys in Blue made very short work of Robbie Di Matteo’s West Brom and dished out a bit of a 6-0 tonking. Oh it’s good to be back!! Drogba gets a hat-trick to take him above Jimmy Greaves in the all-time Chelsea scoring table, and Malouda, Anelka and Cole all put in good performances. Unsurprisingly they figure in the FanCast’s Man of the Match and Guinness awards. But what or whom will get the Celery and Chant of the Match awards…
Turning to the latest Chelsea news, we all have a laugh at Joe Cole seeing Red and Bruce Buck taking the mick out of them; applaud Malouda for being one of the people; find out why our very own Blues Brother Chris Norman was on Sky News and Chidge and Dr Mart have a major rant about the appalling lack of food in the Gate 17 bar.
All that plus some old skool songs in “We’re out to show the World the way to sing”, Dr Mart answering questions on football coverage on TV; why he tried to assassinate Clifford Cravello using Guinness and Vindaloo; one man went to mow and the Chelsea squad. And finally, Chidge reads out the best posts from the website and facebook group in “You’re on CFFC” and some news on new items for the show and the website this season.
